Things to say

The San Francisco 49ers beat the Las Vegas Raiders 18-12 at Allegiant Stadium.

01
opener
Man, that one was all field goals. Nobody found the end zone the whole night. Kickers decided this thing.
02
key player
Eddy Pineiro was the whole offense. Dude hit five field goals, including a 59-yarder. He outscored both teams' touchdowns because there weren't any.
03
hot take
Zero touchdowns and it still went over some spreads? Neither of these offenses could move the ball in the red zone if you spotted them the ten.
04
deep cut
Mendoza threw a pick and finished 7-for-14 for 57 yards. Their leading rusher had 49. That's a whole offense that just couldn't get out of its own way.
05
exit
Preseason stuff anyway. Let's see if anyone remembers how to score a touchdown when the games count.
The recap

This one was a kicker's dream and everybody else's snoozefest — eight field goals, zero touchdowns, nobody could punch it in from the red zone all night. Eddy Pineiro was the whole offense for the Niners, drilling six kicks including a 59-yarder and the 54-yard dagger to ice it 18-12.

The Raiders couldn't move the ball with Fernando Mendoza throwing a pick and just 57 yards through the air, so their defense had to keep bailing them out just to stay close. San Francisco walks away 2-1 without their offense ever really showing up, which tells you all you need to know about Vegas right now.
