Las Vegas AcesvsNew York Liberty
LV 71/NY 111
Things to say
The New York Liberty blew out the Las Vegas Aces 111-71 at Barclays Center.
01
opener
Liberty ran the Aces out of the building. 111-71, it wasn't even that close. Vegas took the L on national TV.
02
key player
Marine Johannes went off for 27, just splashing from everywhere. She was getting buckets whenever she wanted.
03
hot take
The Aces are supposed to be the better team by record, but they got embarrassed. Something's off in Vegas.
04
deep cut
Fauthoux quietly dropped 9 dimes running the offense, and Jonquel Jones ate them up in the paint. New York shared the rock all night.
05
exit
If those two meet again in the playoffs, Vegas better figure it out fast.
The recap
New York just took the Aces to the woodshed, 111-71, and it wasn't even that close. Marine Johannes was cooking all night, dropping 27 and lighting it up from deep while Fauthoux ran the show with 9 dimes.
Vegas came in with the better record but couldn't buy a bucket, and once the Liberty pulled away the rout was on. Latson's 20 was the only real bright spot for a team that flat-out took the L on national TV.
