Los Angeles AngelsvsMiami Marlins
LAA 3/MIA 12
Things to say
The Marlins routed the Angels 12-3 at loanDepot park.
01
opener
Marlins jumped all over them early and never looked back. Twelve to three, it was over by the middle innings. Miami's bats were locked in all night.
02
key player
The heart of Miami's order did the damage — a dozen runs doesn't happen without somebody leaving the yard and driving in a bunch. That lineup carried it.
03
hot take
Angels manager left the starter in way too long. Once he lost his stuff you could see it coming, and the pen didn't help either.
04
deep cut
Miami sitting at 60-59 now, first time sniffing .500 in a while. That's the quiet story here, not the blowout.
05
exit
Angels are 45-73, they're just playing out the string. Anyway, curious if Miami keeps it rolling tomorrow.
The recap
The Marlins jumped all over the Angels early and never looked back, cruising to a 12-3 laugher at loanDepot park. Miami's bats did the heavy lifting, banging out crooked numbers and chasing the Angels starter before he could get into his stuff.
LA never had an answer, and by the time their bullpen came in the game was already out of reach. Easy getaway-day win that pushes the Marlins right back to the doorstep of .500.
