Los Angeles AngelsvsTexas Rangers
LAA 1/TEX 2
Things to say
The Rangers beat the Angels 2-1 in 10 innings at Globe Life Field.
01
opener
Man, that one was a grind. Rangers walked it off in extras, 2-1 in the tenth. Classic getaway-day pitcher's duel, nobody could touch anybody until the very end.
02
key player
Whoever was tossing for Texas got into his stuff early — kept the heart of that Angels order off the bases all night. That WHIP was ugly good.
03
hot take
Honestly the Angels lose that game the second it goes extras. At 51-78 they don't have the bullpen depth to win a coin flip in the tenth.
04
deep cut
Nobody left the yard all night — two runs total, and it still went ten. That's a night the pen carried both dugouts, not the bats.
05
exit
Rangers claw back to .500 range at 64-65. We'll see if they can build on it in the next one.
The recap
Pitchers' duel all night at Globe Life, and Texas finally scratched across the winner in the tenth to grab it 2-1. Nobody left the yard in this one; both staffs were dealing, and a 1-1 game dragged into free baseball before the Rangers walked it off.
The Angels' bullpen kept them in it but couldn't strand the ghost runner when it mattered. Getaway-day grind, and Texas takes it to nudge back toward .500.
