Los Angeles AngelsvsTexas Rangers
LAA 3/TEX 5
Things to say
Texas beat the Angels 5-3 at Globe Life Field.
01
opener
Rangers took care of business at home, 5-3 over the Angels. Nothing flashy, just a solid nine. They needed that one.
02
key player
Whoever was in the heart of that Texas order carried it. You could tell the Angels' guy never really got into his stuff.
03
hot take
Honestly the Angels' season's been over for a while. Fifty-two wins in late August tells you everything.
04
deep cut
Texas is sitting right around .500 and still hanging around. That bullpen slamming the door in the late innings is the whole story.
05
exit
Anyway, let's see if the Rangers can string a couple together and make it a series.
The recap
Texas took care of business at home, holding off the Angels 5-3 to bank a series win on getaway day. The Rangers' bats did enough damage early and their bullpen slammed the door late, keeping LA's heart of the order off the board when it counted.
The Angels, already buried at 52-79, just couldn't string enough together to climb back. Nothing flashy, but the Rangers needed this one to keep their own season breathing at 65-66.
