Los Angeles AngelsvsDetroit Tigers
LAA 10/DET 6
Things to say
Angels beat the Tigers 10-6 at Comerica Park.
01
opener
Angels put up ten on the road in Detroit. Bats were live all night, Tigers just couldn't keep pace. Pretty wild for a Tuesday.
02
key player
Whoever was in the heart of that Angels order was locked in — felt like every at-bat in that lineup turned into traffic on the bases.
03
hot take
Tigers manager went to the pen way too early. You let your starter wear it a little when you're already down, you don't burn three arms in a blowout.
04
deep cut
Both teams sitting at 21-34 going in and the Angels still left the yard like they're chasing a wild card. Tells you something about how thin the AL is right now.
05
exit
Anyway, getaway day tomorrow — curious if the Tigers bullpen has anything left after that.
The recap
Angels rolled into Comerica and put up a ten-spot, knocking off the Tigers 10-6 on a getaway-day matinee. Detroit's staff couldn't find the zone when it mattered, and once LAA got into the bullpen the heart of the order made them pay.
Felt like the manager went to the pen too early and the Halos just kept piling on. Both clubs sit at 21-34, but only one left the yard happy.
