AthleticsvsTexas Rangers
ATH 1/TEX 8
Things to say
The Texas Rangers beat the Athletics 8-1 at Globe Life Field.
01
opener
Rangers took it 8-1, never really in doubt. They put up a crooked number and cruised. A's just never got anything going.
02
key player
Whoever Texas ran out on the mound was dealing — held the A's to one run and got deep into it. That's a starter earning his check.
03
hot take
Look, 8-1 flatters the Rangers. This is a sub-.500 team beating up on a 53-85 club. Don't let one crooked number fool you.
04
deep cut
The A's are 53-85 and it shows late — bullpen leaked runs in garbage time and nobody in the heart of the order did a thing.
05
exit
Anyway, it's a getaway day for the A's — let's see if they can steal one before they leave Texas.
The recap
Texas took this one out behind the woodshed, 8-1 over the Athletics at Globe Life. The bats woke up early and never let ATH hang around, turning a getaway-day snoozer into a laugher by the middle innings.
The Rangers' starter got into his stuff and cruised, handing the bullpen a stress-free finish. For a team scrapping to climb back to .500, that's exactly the kind of easy win you bank and move on from.
