The recap
Detroit handled business at Comerica, riding a 6-2 win over the A's to even up a couple of scuffling clubs both sitting at 41-50. The Tigers got the starter deep and let the heart of the order do the damage, pushing across enough early to make the back end of the bullpen a formality.
Oakland just couldn't string anything together against Detroit's arms, and once the deficit hit four it never felt close. Getaway-day baseball, and the home side sent the crowd out happy.
