Detroit handled business at Comerica, riding a starter who got into his stuff early and pretty much settled the whole thing before the bullpen ever got warm. Six to one is a comfortable margin, and the Tigers never let the Athletics get the heart of their order going.
The lone run was all the visitors could scratch across, so this one was over long before the ninth. Getaway-day baseball, Detroit takes it and moves on.
