Buffalo BillsvsCleveland Browns
BUF 31/CLE 7
Things to say
Buffalo beat Cleveland 31-7 on the road at Huntington Bank Field.
01
opener
Bills rolled the Browns 31-7 in Cleveland. It wasn't close after the first quarter. Buffalo's backups just kept moving the ball while Cleveland couldn't do anything.
02
key player
Ja'Mori Maclin was the story — 108 yards on two catches, including a 71-yard bomb. Two touches, and one of them broke the game open.
03
hot take
Everybody wants to talk Shedeur Sanders, but a pick and one touchdown drive isn't it. Cleveland's still 0-2 for a reason.
04
deep cut
Buffalo scored on the ground with three different guys and never punted in the red zone. That 52-yard Bass field goal was just piling on.
05
exit
Anyway, Browns look cooked early — I'll be watching if Sanders even keeps the job by Week 3.
The recap
Buffalo rolled into Cleveland and left no doubt, hanging 31 on the Browns while the defense clamped down for a 31-7 laugher. The knockout punch came right before halftime and never let up — Shane Buechele hit Ja'Mori Maclin on a 71-yard bomb to blow it open, then punched one in himself to salt it away.
Cleveland's only points came on a short Shedeur Sanders touchdown to Luke Floriea, but they couldn't move the ball after that. Buffalo covered easily and heads home 2-0 while the Browns fall to 0-2 with plenty of questions.
