Toronto Blue JaysvsAtlanta Braves
TOR 3/ATL 7
Things to say
Braves beat the Blue Jays 7-3 at Truist Park.
01
Braves took care of business at home, 7-3 over Toronto. Bats woke up early and they never really gave it back. Truist was rocking.
02
key player
Atlanta's heart of the order did the damage — middle of the lineup kept turning it over and the Jays' pen couldn't find an out.
03
hot take
Toronto at 29-33 is who they are now. That rotation's WHIP is ugly and the front office is gonna have to make a call before the deadline.
04
deep cut
Atlanta's 42-20. Quietly the best record in the National League and nobody's talking about it because everyone's busy with the AL East.
05
exit
Anyway — getaway day tomorrow, see if the Jays can salvage one before they fly out.
The recap
Braves rolled the Jays 7-3 at Truist on a steamy Tuesday night, and honestly it never felt that close. Atlanta jumped on Toronto early and the heart of the order kept piling on, while the Jays' starter just couldn't get into his stuff and got chased before he could settle in.
Toronto's pen bled a couple more across, and at 42-20 the Braves are looking like the team nobody wants to see in October. Jays drop to 29-33 and the vibes up north are getting rough.
