Toronto Blue JaysvsAtlanta Braves
TOR 7/ATL 2
Things to say
Blue Jays beat the Braves 7-2 at Truist Park.
01
opener
Toronto rolled into Atlanta and just took it to them, 7-2. Braves never really got into it. Felt over by the sixth.
02
key player
Bo Bichette was the guy — heart of the order did all the damage, he's been locked in for two weeks now.
03
hot take
Atlanta at 42-21 is fine, but their lineup goes quiet way too often against lefties. That's a playoff problem.
04
deep cut
Manager went to the pen too early in the fifth and it blew the game open. Should've let the starter wear it.
05
exit
Anyway — we'll see if Toronto can stack another one tomorrow. They need it, they're still under .500.
The recap
Blue Jays rolled into Truist and punched the Braves in the mouth, 7-2. Toronto's bats finally woke up against an Atlanta staff that's been carrying that 42-21 record all year, and the bullpen couldn't stop the bleeding once the starter handed it off.
Felt like a getaway-day game where the manager went to the pen too early and Toronto made him pay, stacking runs through the heart of the order. Tough night for the Braves at home, but Toronto needed this one bad sitting at 30-33.
