Washington slugged its way to an 8-6 win over Toronto at Nationals Park, and this one had a little bit of everything. Neither starter had it working, so both bullpens got dragged into the fight early, and the Nats kept punching back every time Toronto tried to grab the lead.
The heart of the order carried the load, stacking runs and leaving a couple over the wall to build the cushion. Toronto made it interesting late, but Washington closed it out and took the series feeling good heading out of town.
