Toronto Blue JaysvsNew York Yankees
TOR 4/NYY 3
Things to say
The Toronto Blue Jays edged the New York Yankees 4-3 at Yankee Stadium.
01
opener
Jays stole one in the Bronx, 4-3. One-run game the whole way, came down to the last out. Toronto just would not go away.
02
key player
Toronto's top of the order set the table all night, and the bullpen slammed the door in the ninth. That's how you win a nail-biter on the road.
03
hot take
Yankees left too many guys on base. You strand the heart of the order at home like that, you deserve to lose by one.
04
deep cut
Real story was Toronto's pen. They bridged those middle innings without giving up the lead, and nobody left the yard on them.
05
exit
Anyway, big test for the Yankees to bounce back tomorrow. This series is gonna be a grind.
The recap
Toronto walked into the Bronx and stole a tight one, edging the Yankees 4-3 in a game that came down to the final at-bats. Every run mattered in this one, and the Jays scratched across just enough to hang on.
New York had chances but couldn't push the tying run home when it counted. For a team sitting under .500, that's a nice scalp to grab on the road against a club chasing October.
