Atlanta BravesvsMinnesota Twins
ATL 2/MIN 4
Things to say
The Minnesota Twins beat the Atlanta Braves 4-2 at Target Field.
01
opener
Twins took it 4-2 over Atlanta. Not a game the Braves should drop with their record, but Minnesota's arms shut the door. Solid work out of the pen late.
02
key player
Twins bats did just enough, but honestly it was the bullpen that won this. They came in and got into their stuff, kept Atlanta's heart of the order quiet.
03
hot take
Braves are 74-51 and still find ways to look flat on the road. That lineup should be putting up more than two on a night like this.
04
deep cut
Watch the middle innings. Atlanta left runners stranded and never strung anything together. Two runs on the road, that's an OBP problem.
05
exit
Anyway, Braves are still cruising in the standings. Let's see if they bounce back and take the series.
The recap
The Twins knocked off the Braves 4-2 at Target Field, playing spoiler against a club that's been running away with things all year. Minnesota's arms kept the heart of Atlanta's order quiet, and the bullpen slammed the door on a two-run cushion late.
Two runs just wasn't going to cut it for the Braves on a night when the offense couldn't string much together. Nice little getaway-day win for a Minnesota team scrapping to stay respectable.
