BrentfordvsLiverpool

BRE 1/LIV 1

SYFYAnfield
Things to say

Liverpool and Brentford drew 1-1 at Anfield.

01
opener
Liverpool dropped points at home again, 1-1 with Brentford. Anfield was bouncing early but they just couldn't put it away. Honestly a frustrating watch.
02
key player
Kelleher was unreal in the Brentford net, seven saves. Coming back to Anfield and standing on his head against his old club, you can't write it.
03
hot take
Mac Allister had four shots and didn't hit the target like he meant it. If he's your guy in midfield, he's got to bury at least one of those.
04
deep cut
Curtis Jones put up 58 accurate passes and Alisson only had to make one save. Liverpool ran the game and still walked away with a point. Shambolic finishing.
05
exit
Anyway, on to the next one — top four is going to come down to the wire.
The recap

Brentford nicked a point at Anfield, and honestly they earned it — 1-1 full time and Liverpool will be kicking themselves. Mac Allister led the shot count with four but couldn't break down a Bees back line marshalled by Nathan Collins, and Kelleher was an absolute wall in the Brentford goal with seven saves, several of them brilliant.

Schade matched Mac Allister shot-for-shot at the other end, and that was the turning point really — every time Liverpool pushed, Brentford had an answer on the counter. Shambolic finishing from the hosts at Anfield, and a proper smash-and-grab draw for the visitors.
