Milwaukee BrewersvsAthletics
MIL 3/ATH 4
Things to say
Athletics edged the Brewers 4-3 at Las Vegas Ballpark.
01
opener
A's took down Milwaukee 4-3 last night. Tight one all the way through. Brewers had every chance and just couldn't punch it in.
02
key player
The Athletics' bats up and down the order kept grinding at-bats — Milwaukee's starter clearly didn't have his best stuff.
03
hot take
Brewers are 41-25 and still losing to a sub-.500 club in Vegas? That's a team that's gonna get exposed in October.
04
deep cut
Wild that this is a home game at Las Vegas Ballpark — A's are basically playing Triple-A road trips while the Sacramento situation drags on.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if Milwaukee bounces back tomorrow — long season, but the bullpen's gotta tighten up.
The recap
The Athletics squeaked one out at home, 4-3 over Milwaukee, which is the kind of result that makes a getaway day feel like a heist when you're sitting at 33-35. Milwaukee came in as the better club at 41-25, so this was very much a banana-peel loss for the Brew Crew.
Without a scoring summary it's tough to pin the turning point on one swing, but a one-run game in Vegas almost always comes down to the bullpen holding serve in the late innings. Quietly a nice scalp for the A's against one of the best records in the league.
