St. Louis CardinalsvsLos Angeles Dodgers
STL 2/LAD 3
Things to say
The Dodgers edged the Cardinals 3-2 at Dodger Stadium.
01
opener
Classic one-run grind out in LA. Dodgers take it 3-2. Not a lot of offense, but it was tight the whole way.
02
key player
The Dodgers' arms were the story. Starter kept St. Louis off balance and the bullpen slammed the door protecting a one-run lead.
03
hot take
Honestly the Cardinals hung around way longer than a 70-71 team should against that lineup. LA left runners all over the place.
04
deep cut
In a 3-2 game every base runner matters, and the heart of the order for both sides went quiet. This one came down to a couple of situational at-bats.
05
exit
Dodgers are just cruising toward October at 83-57. Anyway, curious if St. Louis can steal one tomorrow.
The recap
Dodgers squeaked past the Cardinals 3-2 at Chavez Ravine in the kind of tight, low-scoring nailbiter that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Neither side could get much going against the arms, and it stayed a one-run knife fight into the late innings.
LA scratched across just enough, and the bullpen slammed the door to lock it up. St.
Louis drops to a game under .500 while the Dodgers keep humming along at 83-57.
