CF MontréalvsInter Miami CF
MTL 1/MIA 7
Things to say
Inter Miami hammered CF Montréal 7-1 at home.
01
opener
Miami absolutely ran them off the field, 7-1. It was over by halftime. Montréal never showed up.
02
key player
Messi put up 8 shots and pulled the strings on basically everything. Guy's still the best player in this league by a mile.
03
hot take
Honestly a 7-1 scoreline flatters Montréal. Their keeper made 5 saves or it's double digits.
04
deep cut
Ian Fray had 11 defensive interventions in the back. Miami didn't even need him doing that much, but the kid was locked in.
05
exit
Montréal's basically cooked at 5-6-11. Curious to see if Miami keeps this rolling next week.
The recap
Inter Miami turned this one into a rout, hanging seven on Montréal in a 7-1 blowout at home. Messi ran the show up front, peppering the net with a team-high eight shots and dragging Miami's attack all over the field.
Montréal grabbed a consolation goal to avoid the clean sheet, but that was the only bright spot on a night where the Miami keeper barely had to lift a finger. When you're up by six, it stops being a game and starts being a message.
