CF MontréalvsPhiladelphia Union
MTL 0/PHI 2
Things to say
Philadelphia Union beat CF Montréal 2-0 at home at Subaru Park.
01
opener
Union took care of business at home, 2-nil over Montréal. Never really in doubt. Clean sheet, comfortable night for Philly.
02
key player
Andre Blake barely had to work, just 2 saves and another clean sheet. That back line made his life easy all night.
03
hot take
Honestly the scoreline flatters Montréal. This was a two-goal game that felt like four.
04
deep cut
Breza made 6 saves in the Montréal goal and still shipped two. Without him it's a rout.
05
exit
Union are quietly stacking points down the stretch. Curious to see if they can keep this run going.
The recap
Philadelphia took care of business at home, beating Montreal 2-0 for a clean sheet that never really felt in doubt. The Union controlled the run of play and made their chances count, while Andre Blake barely had to break a sweat with just two saves to keep the shutout intact.
Montreal keeper Sébastian Breza actually had the busier night with six saves, which tells you which way this one flowed. Solid two points of separation as Philly keeps climbing and Montreal stays stuck near the bottom.
