Things to say

Sunderland beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Stadium of Light.

01
opener
Sunderland nicked it 2-1 over Chelsea at the Stadium of Light. Promoted side rolling Chelsea at home, you love to see it. Place was absolutely rocking.
02
key player
Xhaka ran the show again, 45 accurate passes and basically had Chelsea's midfield on a string.
03
hot take
Chelsea are flattering to deceive, mate. Sánchez made five saves and they still lost, that tells you everything.
04
deep cut
Palmer had three shots and not a single one tested the keeper properly, that's the difference right there.
05
exit
Anyway, top four race is going to be an absolute paddling now — let's see what they do next weekend.
The recap

Absolute shock at the Stadium of Light — Sunderland turned Chelsea over 2-1 and fully deserved it. Nilson Angulo was a menace all afternoon with four shots, and Granit Xhaka ran the midfield, knocking about 45 accurate passes and dictating the tempo.

Chelsea's Robert Sánchez had to make five saves just to keep it respectable, which tells you everything about how one-way the traffic was. Cole Palmer barely got a sniff, and Chelsea trudged off looking shambolic.
