Coventry CityvsArsenal
COV 0/ARS 3
Things to say
Arsenal beat Coventry City 3-0 at the Emirates.
01
opener
Arsenal handled Coventry 3-0 at the Emirates, never in doubt. Clean sheet, comfortable, job done. Classic season-opener paddling.
02
key player
David Raya barely broke a sweat — one save all match. When your keeper's got nothing to do, you know it was a stroll.
03
hot take
Honestly 3-0 flatters Coventry. Arsenal were a level above and could've had five if they wanted it.
04
deep cut
Ben White put in a shift you don't see on the scoreline — nine defensive interventions, snuffing everything out before it started.
05
exit
Anyway, good marker to set early. Let's see if they keep it up against a proper side next week.
The recap
Arsenal made short work of Coventry at the Emirates, cruising to a comfortable 3-nil on the opening weekend. It was one-way traffic all afternoon, with Raya barely troubled and picking up an easy clean sheet at the other end.
Coventry, up from the Championship, just couldn't get near it, managing almost nothing worth a mention going forward. Job done for the Gunners, and a tidy way to start the season.
