Louis never got in the game — down early and chasing all night, and once the deficit ballooned the manager was burning through the pen with nothing to show for it. Chicago's bats stayed relentless top to bottom, and their starter gave them exactly what they needed to keep the whole staff rested.
At 61-46 the Cubs look like the class of this division, while the Cards drop back under .500 and it's not getting any easier.
