Chicago CubsvsKansas City Royals
CHC 10/KC 2
Things to say
The Cubs beat the Royals 10-2 on the road at Kauffman Stadium.
01
opener
Cubs rolled the Royals 10-2 in KC. It was over early. Chicago just kept adding on, never let Kansas City hang around.
02
key player
The heart of that Cubs order did all the damage. Somebody in the middle left the yard and it snowballed from there.
03
hot take
Honestly the Royals are just cooked. At 49-70 they're playing out the string, and it shows.
04
deep cut
On a getaway day too, so the KC starter didn't have his best stuff and the manager went to the pen way too early.
05
exit
Cubs are 69-50 and cruising. Anyway, we'll see if they keep it going tomorrow.
The recap
The Cubs rolled into Kauffman and dropped a 10-2 hammer on the Royals, and this one was never really close. Chicago's bats stayed hot all afternoon on the getaway day, stacking up runs and letting their arms cruise with a cushion the whole way.
Kansas City just couldn't find any answers, plating two while the Cubs kept adding on. At 69-50, Chicago looks like a team that's not messing around, while the Royals drop to 49-70 and keep circling the drain.
