Arizona DiamondbacksvsSan Francisco Giants
ARI 6/SF 2
Things to say
Arizona beat San Francisco 6-2 at Oracle Park on Monday.
01
opener
Snakes rolled into Oracle and just took it to the Giants. 6-2, never really felt that close. San Fran's bats are dead right now.
02
key player
Arizona's lineup did damage top to bottom — heart of the order finally looked like the heart of the order.
03
hot take
Giants at 22-32 in late May? That's not a slump, that's who they are. Time to start selling at the deadline.
04
deep cut
Oracle's been a graveyard for Giants power all year and it showed again — anything they hit to right just dies in that wind.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if SF can stop the bleeding tomorrow — bullpen's gotta be cooked by now.
The recap
Diamondbacks rolled into Oracle and took it 6-2, and it wasn't really close after the middle innings. Arizona's bats got into the Giants starter's stuff and chased him before he could give the bullpen a breather, and once San Francisco went to the pen the lead just kept stretching.
The Giants offense never strung anything together against the D-backs arms, scratching out a pair while Arizona kept tacking on. Quiet getaway-day vibes at China Basin, and the Giants drop to 22-32 while Arizona keeps climbing at 29-24.
