Los Angeles DodgersvsArizona Diamondbacks
LAD 2/ARI 4
Things to say
The Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers 4-2 at Chase Field.
01
opener
Yeah, D-backs took it 4-2 at home. Arizona just kept the line moving and LA never really got the big hit. Solid win for a team that's chasing.
02
key player
Whoever they ran out on the mound got into his stuff early. Kept the Dodgers' heart of the order quiet all night, that's the whole ballgame.
03
hot take
Dodgers are 70-48 and still lose games like this. Talent's there, but they go cold at the worst times.
04
deep cut
Two runs on the road at Chase, in that hitter's park? That tells you the bats just didn't show up.
05
exit
Anyway, LA's got the record, they'll be fine. Curious who they throw in the next one.
The recap
The Diamondbacks played spoiler and knocked off the runaway Dodgers 4-2 at Chase Field, handing LA a rare bump in the road. Arizona did just enough with the bats and leaned on the bullpen to slam the door on the heart of the Dodgers order late.
LA has been the class of the league at 70-48, but on a getaway day they couldn't push the two runs across when it mattered. Nice little scalp for the Snakes against a team everybody's already penciling into October.
