EvertonvsAFC Bournemouth
EVE 1/BOU 1
Things to say
Bournemouth and Everton played to a 1-1 draw at the Vitality Stadium.
01
opener
Yeah, ended up one-all. Even game, both sides had chances but nobody could grab a winner. Point apiece feels about right.
02
key player
Petrovic in the Bournemouth net was the story for me. Five saves. Everton would've walked out with three points if he doesn't stand on his head.
03
hot take
Everton should be kicking themselves. They had the better looks and still let a road win slip away. That's two points dropped, not one gained.
04
deep cut
Mykolenko quietly ran the show at the back for Everton. Fifteen defensive interventions, most of anybody on the field. Nobody talks about him.
05
exit
Long season though. Everybody's still finding their feet this early. Curious to see who they draw next.
The recap
Bournemouth and Everton split the points in a 1-1 draw at Vitality Stadium, and neither side could find the winner. It was a tight, back-and-forth afternoon where both keepers earned their pay, Djordje Petrovic stacking up five saves for Bournemouth and Jordan Pickford turning away four for Everton.
Rayan led the home side's push with five shots but couldn't break through, and Thierno Barry ran into the same wall on the other end. A point apiece, and both teams walk away feeling like they left one on the table.
