Atlanta FalconsvsIndianapolis Colts
ATL 34/IND 6
Things to say
Atlanta beat Indianapolis 34-6 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
01
opener
Yeah, that one got ugly fast. Falcons rolled the Colts 34-6 and it wasn't even that close. Indy just couldn't move the ball all day.
02
key player
Jack Strand was the story. 212 yards, a touchdown through the air, and he tucked it and ran one in from 16. Guy looked like the best player on the field.
03
hot take
Six points at home? That's not a slump, that's a problem. The Colts offense couldn't buy a first down.
04
deep cut
Tyler Goodson breaking off a 49-yard touchdown run in the first half is what really cracked it open. Once Atlanta got that, the defense just teed off.
05
exit
Anyway, long season. Let's see if Indy can put a drive together next week before we bury 'em.
The recap
Atlanta walked into Lucas Oil and hung 34 on Indy, and it was never really close after Tyler Goodson broke a 49-yard rush to make it 10-3. Jack Strand ran the show for the Falcons, throwing for 212 and a score to Cash Jones and even punching one in himself, while the Colts offense couldn't move the ball all afternoon.
Riley Leonard managed all of 62 passing yards and Indy had to settle for two Spencer Shrader field goals — that was the whole night. Smashmouth football from Atlanta on both sides of the line of scrimmage, and the scoreboard showed it.
