Portland FirevsToronto Tempo
POR 79/TOR 82
Things to say
Toronto beat Portland 82-79 at home.
01
opener
Tempo squeaked one out at home, 82-79. Came right down to the wire. Portland had a shot to tie it late and couldn't get the dagger to fall.
02
key player
Isabelle Harrison was an absolute problem — 25 and 10, just ate them up in the paint all night.
03
hot take
Toronto's 11-25 but don't sleep, they play way tougher than that record. Portland's the one who should be worried, they're supposed to be the better team.
04
deep cut
Carla Leite quietly dropped six dimes running the show for Portland — the kid's a bucket, they just couldn't get shots to splash down the stretch.
05
exit
Anyway, three-point game, chalk it up — Portland's gotta clean it up before their next one.
The recap
Toronto squeaked past Portland 82-79 in a gritty one that came down to the wire. Isabelle Harrison put on a clinic with a 25-and-10 double-double, carrying the Tempo on both ends and cleaning the glass all night.
Bridget Carleton kept the Fire breathing with 18 buckets, but Portland couldn't get the dagger to fall when it mattered. Toronto grabs a scrappy home W and Portland takes the L in a three-point heartbreaker.
