Fordham RamsvsNorth Dakota State Bison
FOR 0/NDSU 38
Things to say
North Dakota State shut out Fordham 38-0 at the Fargodome.
01
opener
Yeah, NDSU rolled. 38-0, never in doubt. Fordham couldn't move the ball all night.
02
key player
Nathan Hayes was surgical. 18 of 22 for two scores, didn't even need the fourth quarter.
03
hot take
Honestly the defense won this one. Three picks off Gunnar Smith, a pick-six, they smothered him.
04
deep cut
DJ Scott quietly punched in two short touchdowns, and Marion Moore's 37-yard pick-six flipped it wide open.
05
exit
Bison look like the same machine as always. Anyway, we'll see if anyone in the Valley can hang with them.
The recap
NDSU did exactly what NDSU does in Fargo — smashmouth football, total shutout, 38-0 and it never felt that close. Nathan Hayes was surgical, 18-of-22 for two scores, while DJ Scott punched in two more on the ground behind a line Fordham couldn't budge.
The Rams? Couldn't move the ball an inch, and Gunnar Smith gift-wrapped it with three picks, one of which Marion Moore took 37 yards the other way for six.
Turning point was kickoff; the Bison rolled from the jump and never looked back.
