San Francisco GiantsvsAtlanta Braves
SF 7/ATL 3
Things to say
The Giants beat the Braves 7-3 on the road at Truist Park.
01
opener
Giants went into Atlanta and took it 7-3. San Fran's a last-place club but they didn't play like it. Braves just never got the bats going.
02
key player
Whoever SF ran out on the bump kept getting into his stuff late. Braves' heart of the order couldn't square anything up.
03
hot take
Atlanta's supposed to be an 82-win team and they looked flat all night. That's a bad loss to a club sitting at 57-81.
04
deep cut
Getaway day for the Giants and they still put up seven. Braves' pen didn't help, felt like the manager left his starter out a batter too long.
05
exit
Braves better shake it off quick, they've got real games that matter down the stretch.
The recap
The Giants rolled into Truist Park and swiped this one 7-3, playing spoiler against a Braves club that's got October on the brain. San Francisco's bats did the heavy lifting, stacking runs and never really letting Atlanta breathe in what turned into a comfortable getaway-day win.
The Braves put three on the board but couldn't string enough together to make it a fight, and the bullpen couldn't slow the bleeding once the Giants pulled ahead. For a team well under .500, this was the kind of loose, nothing-to-lose night that turns into a runaway.
