San Francisco GiantsvsTexas Rangers
SF 0/TEX 6
Things to say
The Texas Rangers shut out the San Francisco Giants 6-0 at home.
01
opener
Rangers took care of business at home, 6-0. Never really in doubt. Giants just had nothing going.
02
key player
Whoever Texas ran out there was filthy — that's a clean shutout, and you don't blank a big-league lineup by accident.
03
hot take
Six-nothing flatters the Giants, honestly. That offense has been ice cold for weeks.
04
deep cut
Getaway day, day game after a night game, and the Giants' bats stayed asleep the whole way through.
05
exit
Anyway, both these teams are under .500 — I'm more curious who's still standing come the deadline dust settling.
The recap
Texas took care of business at home, blanking San Francisco 6-0 in a tidy afternoon of baseball. The Rangers' arms were the whole story here — whoever toed the rubber kept the Giants off the board all day, and a shutout is a shutout.
San Francisco couldn't string anything together against the heart of that Texas staff, and the bats stayed cold from the first pitch to the last. Clean win for a Rangers club scratching to climb back to .500.
