San Francisco GiantsvsColorado Rockies
SF 19/COL 6
Things to say
The Giants throttled the Rockies 19-6 at Coors Field on Sunday.
01
opener
Giants went into Coors and just dropped 19 on the Rockies. Nineteen. On a getaway day. Felt over by the fourth.
02
key player
Whoever was in the heart of that San Francisco order was eating all afternoon. You don't put up a crooked number like that without two guys leaving the yard.
03
hot take
Colorado's manager went to the pen way too early and it snowballed. That's not a Coors problem, that's a roster problem.
04
deep cut
Rockies are 22-38 and somehow still scored six. That tells you everything about pitching at altitude.
05
exit
Anyway, Giants look locked in heading into the next series. Should be a fun week.
The recap
Giants absolutely torched Colorado at Coors, 19-6, and it was over by the middle innings. San Francisco's bats just kept rolling through the order, stacking crooked numbers while Rockies pitching had nothing — felt like every other at-bat was leaving the yard or finding grass.
The Colorado manager went to the pen way too early and it only made things worse, with the bullpen pouring gas on the fire. A getaway day blowout in Denver, plain and simple.
