San Francisco GiantsvsColorado Rockies
SF 6/COL 4
Things to say
The Giants beat the Rockies 6-4 at Coors Field.
01
opener
Giants took it 6-4 out in Colorado. Coors always juices the scoring, so nobody was shocked it stayed close. San Francisco just did enough down the stretch.
02
key player
The heart of the Giants order carried them again. Couple guys left the yard, and at Coors you cash those in.
03
hot take
Honestly the Rockies at 36-54 aren't fooling anybody. That's not a loss, that's a Tuesday for them.
04
deep cut
Watch the bullpens in that park. Coors chews up relievers, and whoever went to the pen first usually loses the altitude game.
05
exit
Anyway, two sub-.500 clubs clawing for scraps. I'll catch the next one and see if the Giants keep it rolling.
The recap
Giants went into Coors Field, where offense usually goes to party, and walked out with a 6-4 win to take this one. Scratching out six on the road at altitude is no joke, and San Francisco did enough damage against the heart of the order to stay in front all night.
The Rockies pushed back with four but never got the big swing they needed to flip it. Getaway-day win for the Giants, and they'll take it in a building where nothing's ever safe.
