Cleveland GuardiansvsChicago White Sox
CLE 8/CHW 2
Things to say
The Guardians beat the White Sox 8-2 at Rate Field.
01
opener
Cleveland handled Chicago 8-2, wasn't really close after the middle innings. Guardians bats woke up on the road and just kept the line moving. Sox never had an answer.
02
key player
The Guardians' starter was the story, got into his stuff early and went deep enough to save the pen on a getaway day.
03
hot take
Honestly the White Sox at 59-56 are living on borrowed time. That lineup can't score when it matters.
04
deep cut
Cleveland's still under .500 at 58-59, but they own the head-to-head vibe. Their bottom of the order did the damage, not the heart of the order.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if the Sox bounce back tomorrow or if Cleveland just runs it back.
The recap
Cleveland went into Rate Field and put this one away early, hanging 8 on the White Sox and never looking back in an 8-2 laugher. The Guardians' bats did the heavy lifting up and down the order, and once they built the cushion the arms just cruised.
Chicago's two runs were a whole lot of nothing on a getaway day where they couldn't string anything together. Tidy road win for the Guards to climb back toward .500.
