Cleveland GuardiansvsChicago White Sox
CLE 3/CHW 6
Things to say
The White Sox beat the Guardians 6-3 at home at Rate Field.
01
opener
Sox took it 6-3 at home. Cleveland hung around early but couldn't string anything together. Chicago just kept adding on.
02
key player
The heart of that Sox order carried it — one big swing left the yard and that was the game right there.
03
hot take
Honestly Cleveland's bats have gone quiet, they're a .500 club playing like it. That offense needs a jolt.
04
deep cut
Guardians went to the pen too early and it cost them — those middle innings are where this one got away.
05
exit
Anyway, both these teams are scrapping around .500, so the next one in this series actually matters. Curious who they run out there.
The recap
The White Sox took care of business at Rate Field, knocking off Cleveland 6-3 to make it a good day on the South Side. Chicago's bats did the heavy lifting, and once they built the cushion the bullpen slammed the door to lock down the three-run win.
Cleveland just couldn't string enough together off the heart of the order to climb back in it. That one drops the Guardians back under .500 while the Sox keep rolling at 60-56.
