Houston Dynamo FCvsNew England Revolution
HOU 2/NE 0
Things to say
Houston Dynamo beat New England 2-0 on the road at Gillette Stadium.
01
opener
Houston went into Gillette and got the job done, 2-nil. Revs never really threatened. Turner made a bunch of saves or it's worse than that.
02
key player
Matt Turner had five saves keeping the score down, but when your keeper's your best player you've already lost. Rough night in front of him.
03
hot take
Nine and three and six for the Revs and they're still this flat at home? That's not a hiccup, that's a soft spine.
04
deep cut
Fofana had twelve defensive interventions, most on the pitch, and it still didn't matter. Houston just went through them anyway, clean sheet for Bond.
05
exit
Houston are the ones to watch out West now. Curious what the Revs do next week to fix this.
The recap
Houston went into Gillette and left with all three points, a tidy 2-0 win that keeps them top of the pile out East. New England had their moments but couldn't find the net, and Matt Turner was left to make five saves just to keep it respectable.
Jonathan Bond barely broke a sweat for the clean sheet at the other end. Clinical from Houston, frustrating night for the Revs.
