Leeds UnitedvsNottingham Forest
LEE 1/NFO 0
Things to say
Leeds United beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 at The City Ground.
01
opener
Leeds nicked it 1-nil at the City Ground. Forest huffed and puffed but never really tested them. Away side takes all three points.
02
key player
James Trafford was the difference in the Leeds goal. Three saves and a clean sheet on the road. Kept them in it more than once.
03
hot take
Forest looked shambolic up front. Igor Jesus led them with three shots and none of it troubled the keeper. That's a paddling waiting to happen if they don't sort the finishing.
04
deep cut
Murillo was everywhere at the back for Forest, thirteen defensive interventions. Problem is you don't win games from your own box. All that work and nothing to show for it.
05
exit
Early days, but Leeds look organized. Let's see if they can back it up next week.
The recap
Leeds nicked all three points at the City Ground, grinding out a 1-nil win that they'll happily take on the road. It was a tight, cagey affair with barely anything between the sides, but the visitors found the net once and then dug in for a proper clean sheet.
James Trafford was the difference late on, pulling off three saves to keep Forest off the board and preserve the lead. A shambolic afternoon in front of goal for Nottingham Forest, who huffed and puffed without ever really testing the keeper.
