LiverpoolvsIpswich Town
LIV 2/IPS 0
Things to say
Liverpool beat Ipswich Town 2-0 on the road at Portman Road.
01
opener
Liverpool went into Ipswich and left with a clean sheet, 2-0. Never really in doubt once they settled in. Ipswich threw a lot at them but couldn't find the net.
02
key player
Alisson was the story for me. Five saves and a clean sheet away from home. He bailed them out a couple times.
03
hot take
Two-nil flatters Liverpool. Ipswich outshot them and honestly deserved a goal for the effort.
04
deep cut
Julio Enciso had six shots by himself for Ipswich and nothing to show for it. Scherpen made five saves the other way, so both keepers earned their keep.
05
exit
Anyway, Liverpool's back home next weekend. We'll see if that road form holds up.
The recap
Liverpool went to Portman Road and walked out with a clean 2-0, taking all three points on the road. Ipswich actually threw plenty at them, with Julio Enciso peppering six shots and the home side outshooting the visitors, but Alisson stood tall with five saves to keep the clean sheet intact.
Liverpool didn't need to be flashy here, just clinical, cashing in their chances while the back line held firm. A grind-it-out road win is exactly the kind of result that keeps a season on track.
