Long Island University SharksvsKansas Jayhawks
LIU 6/KU 51
Things to say
Kansas ran LIU off the field 51-6 at home to open 1-0.
01
opener
Kansas jumped on 'em early and never looked back. LIU couldn't move the ball at all. It was 30-0 before they even sniffed the end zone.
02
key player
Isaiah Marshall was surgical. 14 of 19, 246 and two scores. Barely broke a sweat.
03
hot take
Honestly a 45-point win and the offense still left points out there. Kansas should've hit 60.
04
deep cut
Nik McMillan quietly went for 130 on six catches. Averaging over 20 a grab, that's the guy to watch.
05
exit
Cupcake game, whatever. We'll learn a lot more once they hit real Big 12 competition.
The recap
Kansas took a cupcake and turned it into batting practice, hanging 51 on FCS-visitor LIU without ever breaking a sweat. Isaiah Marshall carved it up through the air at 14-of-19 for 246 and two scores, Nik McMillan went for 130 on the receiving end, and the ground game piled on four rushing touchdowns to make it a track meet.
The Sharks couldn't move the ball all day, mustering just two Will Johnson field goals while never sniffing the end zone. This one was over before the popcorn got cold.
