Manchester CityvsCrystal Palace
MNC 4/CRY 1
Things to say
Manchester City beat Crystal Palace 4-1 at Selhurst Park.
01
opener
City rolled into Selhurst Park and just took it. Four-one, never really in doubt. Palace hung around early but the wheels came off.
02
key player
Haaland was a problem all day. Five shots, and he found the net like it was nothing. That guy's just a cheat code right now.
03
hot take
Honestly, 4-1 flatters Palace. Their keeper Henderson made four saves or it's uglier.
04
deep cut
Guéhi put up 106 accurate passes in the middle. City just owned the ball, Palace was chasing shadows.
05
exit
Anyway, City look scary already. Two-nil to start the season. Curious who slows them down.
The recap
Manchester City rolled into Selhurst Park and left with a 4-1 win that never really felt in doubt. Haaland was the story up top, peppering the goal with five shots and doing what he does, while City's passing game just wore Palace down all afternoon.
Dean Henderson made four saves to keep it from getting even uglier, but the dam broke anyway. City move to 2-0 to start the year; Palace are still winless at 0-0-2.
