Manchester UnitedvsHull City
MAN 0/HUL 2
Things to say
Hull City beat Manchester United 2-0 at the MKM Stadium.
01
opener
Newly-promoted Hull just took United to the cleaners, 2-nil at home. United never looked like scoring. Absolutely shambolic from a so-called big club.
02
key player
Tzolakis in the Hull goal was brilliant, five saves and a clean sheet. Man of the match, easy.
03
hot take
United had all the ball and did nothing with it. That's a full paddling, not bad luck.
04
deep cut
Maguire knocked 72 passes about at the back and it meant nothing going forward. Mbeumo got four shots off and still couldn't find the net.
05
exit
Long season ahead, but United better sort it out before their next one or the pressure's really on.
The recap
Absolute paddling for United at the MKM, where newly-promoted Hull City sent them packing 2-nil. Konstantinos Tzolakis was the hero between the sticks with five saves, keeping a clean sheet while United's front line huffed and puffed to nothing.
Bryan Mbeumo had four cracks at goal and found nothing but the keeper, and even with Maguire pinging 72 passes around, there was zero cutting edge up top. Shambolic afternoon for a big club against a side just up from the Championship.
