Seattle MarinersvsMilwaukee Brewers
SEA 4/MIL 7
Things to say
The Brewers beat the Mariners 7-4 at American Family Field on Wednesday.
01
opener
Brewers took it 7-4. Milwaukee's just relentless right now, 79-49 and rolling. Seattle hung around but never really flipped it.
02
key player
The heart of Milwaukee's order did the damage — those guys keep grinding out at-bats and making you pay. Seven runs doesn't happen by accident.
03
hot take
Honestly the Mariners are what, ten under .500? At 60-68 that's not a fluke anymore, that's just who they are this year.
04
deep cut
The gap wasn't the bats early, it was the pen. Once Seattle's manager went to the bullpen those middle innings got away from them.
05
exit
Anyway, Brewers are the class of the division — I'll be watching who they draw come October.
The recap
Milwaukee kept rolling at American Family Field, taking down Seattle 7-4 to push to a ridiculous 79-49. The Brewers pounded the ball early and made the Mariners' pitching pay, and once the bats got hot the bullpen just had to hold serve.
Seattle scratched across four but never really got into their stuff on the mound, and the heart of the order couldn't string enough together to climb back in. Milwaukee's the best team in baseball right now and nights like this are exactly why.
