Seattle MarinersvsBaltimore Orioles
SEA 2/BAL 7
Things to say
Baltimore beat Seattle 7-2 at Camden Yards on Wednesday night.
01
Orioles took care of the Mariners 7-2 last night at Camden. Felt like Baltimore was on them from the jump. Seattle's bats just never showed up.
02
key player
The Birds' lineup did damage up and down — heart of the order kept turning it over and Seattle's pen couldn't find an out.
03
hot take
Mariners are starting to look like a wild card team that doesn't actually want the wild card.
04
deep cut
Seattle's manager went to the pen too early again — once that bullpen door swings, this team can't slam it shut.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if Baltimore can stack one tomorrow — getaway day at Camden, should be a fun one.
The recap
Orioles took care of business at Camden, hanging a 7-2 on Seattle to snap themselves back into the win column. Baltimore's bats did the heavy lifting early and the lead just kept stretching, which let them stay out of the bullpen's hair until it was already a laugher.
Mariners couldn't string anything together against Baltimore's arms, and two runs on a getaway-day kind of night isn't going to cut it. SEA still sits above .500 at 36-33, but the O's just made their own week a whole lot easier.
