Seattle MarinersvsNew York Yankees
SEA 5/NYY 10
Things to say
The Yankees beat the Mariners 10-5 at Yankee Stadium.
01
opener
Yankees jumped on Seattle early and never looked back. Ten runs at home, that's a laugher. Bombers looked like the Bombers.
02
key player
The heart of that Yankee order did all the damage. Somebody in the middle left the yard and the whole lineup piled on after. Ten runs doesn't happen by accident.
03
hot take
Honestly the Seattle bullpen lost this one. Once the game got away, the pen just poured gas on it.
04
deep cut
Mariners are 56-65 and this kind of blowout is why. They hang around .500-ish but the road trips keep sinking them.
05
exit
Anyway, Yankees are rolling at 68-52. Let's see if Seattle can steal one before they leave the Bronx.
The recap
The Yankees flat-out bullied Seattle in the Bronx, banging out ten runs to take this one 10-5. The Mariners hung around for a bit, but once the heart of the Yankee order got rolling the ball kept leaving the yard and the pen never had to sweat it.
Seattle's staff couldn't miss enough bats to matter, and New York just kept adding on. On a getaway day, that's the kind of laugher that sends everybody to the airport happy.
