The recap
Marlins snuck out of PNC with a 4-2 win on a sleepy Sunday matinee, and it had that getaway-day feel from the jump. Miami's starter got into his stuff early and went deep enough to keep the bullpen rested, while the Pirates couldn't string anything together against a guy living on the edges of the zone.
The turning point was the middle innings when the heart of the Marlins order finally broke through and somebody left the yard to flip a one-run game. Two clubs sitting at .500 staring at each other, but today Miami just wanted it a little more.
