Merrimack WarriorsvsDelaware Blue Hens
MRMK 7/DEL 42
Things to say
Delaware beat Merrimack 42-7 at home to open the season 1-0.
01
opener
Delaware ran Merrimack right off the field, 42-7. It was 35-0 before Merrimack even showed up. Never a game.
02
key player
Minicucci was the whole show — 330 yards and two scores through the air, plus he punched one in himself. Guy carved them up.
03
hot take
Honestly the score flatters Merrimack. Their only points came in garbage time when Delaware was already coasting.
04
deep cut
The dagger was that 75-yard Roberts catch-and-run — dude had two grabs for 80 yards and one of them went the distance.
05
exit
Blue Hens look legit, but we'll learn a lot more when somebody with a pulse shows up on the schedule.
The recap
Delaware never let Merrimack breathe, hanging 28 unanswered before the Warriors so much as sniffed the end zone. Nick Minicucci ran the show, throwing for 330 and three scores while adding one on the ground, and Kaderris Roberts turned a 75-yard catch-and-run into the dagger.
Merrimack couldn't move the ball all night and didn't reach the board until Galamama Mulbah punched one in with under a minute left in a game long decided. Blue Hens open the year 1-0 with a smashmouth 42-7 statement.
