New York MetsvsAtlanta Braves
NYM 0/ATL 4
Things to say
Atlanta shut out the Mets 4-0 at Truist Park.
01
opener
Braves handled the Mets, 4-0. Full shutout at home. New York's bats just never showed up.
02
key player
Whoever Atlanta ran out there on the mound dealt — kept the heart of the order off balance and blanked them all night. (Didn't catch the box score name, so I'd hedge on that if pressed.)
03
hot take
This wasn't some fluke. Mets are 53-68 for a reason, that lineup's been ice cold.
04
deep cut
Braves are 72-48 now — getting shut out against a division rival like that is the kind of quiet ugly loss that says more than the score.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if the Mets can bounce back next one — hard to sink much lower than a goose egg.
The recap
Atlanta slammed the door on the Mets 4-0 at Truist Park, and this one was never really in doubt. New York got shut out cold, going quiet through the heart of the order all night while the Braves' arms carried the load and never let a runner smell home plate.
A four-spot was plenty when you're tossing a blanket like that. Atlanta's now sitting pretty at 72-48 while the Mets keep sliding.
