Rays took care of business at the Trop, handling the Mets 6-2 to keep their grip on a playoff spot. Tampa's starter set the tone early and the bats did the rest, stacking runs before New York's arm settled in.
The Mets, buried at 62-77, never really threatened once they fell behind, and the bullpen kept them at arm's length the rest of the way. At 83-55, the Rays just keep rolling, and this one was over before the late innings got interesting.
