The recap
The Mets went into the Trop and absolutely bullied the Rays, 10-4, which nobody saw coming from a team sitting under .500. New York's bats got loud early and never let up, hanging a crooked number that put Tampa in a hole they couldn't climb out of.
The Rays are chasing a division and can't afford to give away nights like this, but their pitching just never got into its stuff. Getaway day, the good guys leave town with the win and a lot of dented ego on the other side.
